Roman Arena
The center of Verona is the Roman Arena, it is the symbol of the city and known throughout Veneto. The ancient amphitheater is the best preserved building and can seat up to 22 people.000 visitors. You can visit the amphitheater for 6€, however in my opinion it is not worth it, better plan for your stay in Verona also to visit a performance.
The balcony of Romeo and Juliet
In Verona is the balcony of William Shakespeare’s masterpiece Romeo and Juliet where Juliet sings the famous words “Romeo, O Romeo, why art thou Romeo??” spoke. Many tourists want to see this balcony during a city trip in Verona and it is located in the middle of the shopping street, so it is hard to miss it. My tip, come right at opening time at 9:00am, later you may have to wait in line.
Castelvecchio
The Castelvecchio is located a bit outside the city center and here you can find many restaurants to spend a few relaxing hours. The bridge is a real eye-catcher and the castle itself you can enter for free, only the museum costs an entrance fee. Also for great Instagram photos this sight in Verona is super suitable.
Ponte Pietra
From the old town of Verona to Castel San Pietro (next point) you can get across the Ponte Pietra. The bridge offers a fantastic view, especially at sunrise and sunset, of the many colorful houses along the Adige River.
Castle San Pietro
The medieval castle in Verona is a must see on your vacation or city break in Verona. Veneto offers some great places and one of the most beautiful are the viewing platforms of the Castle San Pietro. From here you have the best view of Verona.
Day trip Sirmione Lake Garda
Only 40 minutes from Verona lies the old town of Sirmione on Lake Garda. If you are in Italy by car, you should spend a day at the wonderful Lake Garda and my tip is Sirmione. The old town is unfortunately not an insider tip and is visited by many tourists, but is therefore also perfectly equipped with restaurants, bars, cafes and ice cream parlors. The highlight of Sirmione is the water castle. My secret tip, visit this attraction as long as you are under 26, then you pay only 2,5€ per person, from 26 the entrance fee is 6€. Since there is not too much to see, I recommend you to visit this sight only if you are under this age limit. Otherwise, just enjoy the gorgeous scenery and rent a boat to unwind on Lake Garda.
